Rusty Wire Bernese & Buffalo Ranch
Hi, Lisa...
Just thought I would send you an update on our six month old "baby". Maya is the sweetest
girl, ever. She is still a squeaker and it doesn't matter if she hasn't seen me for five minutes or
an hour, she is ecstatic when she sees me. Maya has been to puppy classes and she is doing
very well. Except when she decides she has had enough and rolls onto her back for a belly
rub. It is so funny.... Maya loves to travel wherever we may go and is always ready to go for a
ride in the car or for a hike. She weighs about 57 pounds now and is very healthy. We had a
bit of a problem with diarrhea but after some research and much thinking, I determined it
was from the rawhide chew toys. Once I replaced those with something else, she was back to
normal. Attached are a couple of pictures. Once again, thanks for our beautiful Maya.

Here is our gorgeous boy Fergus and we love him very much - it's already impossible to imagine life without
him. We just lost Whisky our eleven and a half y-o retriever a little while after we had Fergus who is truly a
Godsend. He was 5 months on July 28th and this photo was
taken last Sunday morning by my cousin Heather who is
better with a camera than I am.
Our experience with
Lisa has been fabulous.
We are still in touch and
felt fully confident
about how the pups
were raised and loved
prior to coming to us.

Hi My name is Denise and I am the sister of Debbie the
proud new mom of (male #1) who we now call Oliver. I
just wanted to write and tell you I had the pleasure of
watching him over memorial weekend. I did'nt know to
much about Bernese's but this one is a character. Our
entire family has fallen in love with him. The other reason
I am writing is I want to surprise my sister with a first year
of Oliver scrapbook, so If it's not to much trouble could
you email me a photo of Olivers parents Bernie and
Greta, like the one in your website, I would greatly
appreciate it. You could'nt of picked better parents than
Debbie and Kerry, thank you,and Bernie & Greta for
bringing Oliver into our hearts.

Hey Lisa, here are some photos of Rex with the kids.
Hi, I see you are busy with more pups. Pretty cute! Just thought I would give you an update on our beautiful Tozi. We did not realize
you were giving us the pick of the litter :-). She is wonderful and smart and usually fearless. The only thing she does not care for yet is
riding in the small plane though she will figure out that flying is a way to get to fun places to play. We spent some time at our fish camp
this summer and the pups got to get muddy and ride in the boat (she loves that). They are learning tricks and she is working on
learning roll over right now. She is a delight and we are very happy to have her! Thank you!

Tozi is home! Tozi was like an over tired kid last night. Had a hard time getting to sleep. Wanted to stay up to play with Kita. They are
getting along though there is some serious groweling occasionally as they work out their places. Right now, they are both asleep at my
feet. I am impresed with how well socialized Tozi is. She is not afraid of new things - that will be good for her life with us. Thank you
very much for our new family member. We will stay in touch! Sonja, Tom, Kita nad Tozi.

I was taking pictures of the kids for Christmas
cards, and Maya wanted to get in on the action.
She kept laying down under the counterbar
watching what was going on. The kids went
over to where she was laying and sat down
behind her to see if we could get a good picture
of the four of them. Maya ended up laying
across their laps and posing for the photo. If
you look in the lower right hand corner, you
will see that Maya put her paw in Krista's
hand. It was very sweet. My children in the
picture are Kaitlin (9), Nickolas (10) and Krista
(11). They absolutely love her and call her their
"fur" sister.
Mark is headed out to Afghanistan in January. He just completed SAMS (School
of Advanced Military Studies) and will be working in the ISAF headquarters
doing operational plans. He will be gone 12-14 months. The children and I are
going to stay in Kansas until he gets back. We like it here, and it's been home for
the past two years. Mark keeps saying how Maya joined our family at the right
time and he knows she will be a big comfort to the kids while he is gone. I am
so thankful for her too.
Warmly...Melissa
Just an update. Jack is excellant. Just
had his rear dew's off today,
microchiped, and x-rayed hips. Vet
said everything looks excellant. The
vet office staff and vet think he's the
best looking Berner they have seen.
We're all really impressed with Jack
and he knows it. He still thinks he's a
lap dog and crawls up on our laps
everyday. His weight is 88lbs. Thanks
again for such an excellant
companion. The Griffin's
